Our Neighborhood
Sala Suites is located in one of the eight historical settlements that are called Marasia.
These neighborhoods were created circa 1522, when the Ottomans conquered the island of Rhodes and forced the inhabitants to abandon their houses within the walls of the Old Town and live outside of the fortified part of the city.
Sala Suites is part of St John’s (Ai Giannis) neighborhood, north of the medieval walls of the city and it is housed in a historical building, labeled by the Ministry of Culture’s Modern Monuments Directorate as a typical example of architecture of the period.
It features the characteristic main courtyard, around which the housing complex is organized, with the beautiful pebbled floor.
Rhodes
Rhodes is an island with many faces, that offers unique life experiences to all contemporary travelers. One visit is of course not enough to discover it as a whole, but it is sure enough to fall in love with it!
Wander at the mesmerizing alleys of the Old Town at dusk, marvel at the imposing works of the Knights of the Order of St John, as well as the monumental architecture of the Italians in many island landmarks as the New Town (Mantraki) and the unique Kallithea Springs.
Opt for a refreshing dive at the deep blue water of Elli, Enydreio (Aquarium) and Zefyros beaches, that are easily accessible from Sala Suites or explore the island road tripping along the beautiful beaches of the south side: from the golden sand of Faliraki to the vast endless blue of Afandou beach to the exotic Kiotari beach and the idyllic surfer’s Paradise that is Prasonisi. Drive around the island to the west side to discover the ancient castles of Monolithos and Kritinia and breathe in the air of Greek country and village life.
Get lost in the majesty of Lindos and its imposing Acropolis, feel the island’s vibes trying traditional delicacies and local wines in little villages at the Wine Roads towards Attaviros village and choose among many options for nightlife. Rhodes is waiting for you to discover it!
